Snow & Ice Removal

The bylaws (4.3.a) require homeowners to keep their sidewalks reasonably free of ice & snow. While most neighbors have been good about this, quite a few have really neglected to clear their sidewalks for weeks at a time. It is not OK to leave 4-6″ of snow and ice covering your sidewalks days or weeks after a storm, as the sidewalks are are used every day by your neighbors & their children walking to/from school or bus stops.

Please ensure that your snow remains on your property. You (or the service you hire for snow removal) should not be plowing, pushing, blowing, or otherwise moving your snow on to neighbor’s property.

Please be extra mindful and avoid on-street parking especially overnight and during snowstorms. While on-street parking is generally prohibited, vehicles parked on the road impede access to the snowplows & salt trucks.

Sewer Billing

We expect Plainfield Township will begin billing our sewer usage starting with January, 2026. These bills will be sent out in March, and continue monthly from then. We will have finalized details on the rates & assessment info shortly as well.

Plainfield has finalized the billing details for Saddle Ridge Sewer services. Once the final costs were verified, an agreement was made between Plainfield Twp and the Saddle Ridge HOA Board to begin billing by March 1st. The Plainfield billing cycle has approximately a 1-month delay from the actual usage, so the bill you receive in late February will be for January services. When you receive a bill in late March, that will be for February service; and so on.

Plainfield has agreed to finance the costs for the sewer construction & hookup project over a 20-year period at 4% annual interest. That means you will see a $97.48 finance charge on every monthly bill for the next 20 years. Once the loan has matured, the finance charge will drop off your bill, and it will only consist of your sewer usage and ready to serve charges. Homeowners have the option to pay off the loan in full at any time if they wish, but it would have to be paid in full; you are not able to pay the principle down with extra monthly payments. Plainfield Twp also agreed to add all costs related to calendar year 2025 sewer usage onto this loan, so residents will not have to pay a lump sum for past usage.

The sewer system and billing have been handed over 100% to Plainfield Township going forward. Any questions on billing and sewer service must be directed to them rather than the HOA Board.

Architectural Requests

All exterior modifications including but not limited to decks & patios, pools, fencing, satellite dishes, driveway expansions, non-traditional landscaping, etc., should be going through the Architectural committee for review & approval. This process is intended to help ensure that such modifications are made in compliance with the existing bylaws and established guidelines. The forms & instructions to begin this process are available on the website: Architectural Change Requests.

General Reminders

  • On-street parking is always prohibited. During winter months, this rule is especially important as vehicles parked on the street overnight do impede the trucks from salting/plowing the streets.
  • The construction entrance should not be used by residents or guests of residents.
